Spoken Truth: Dai Woolridge. An amazing Gospel poet!

Today I have stumbled upon Dai Woolridge. I'm amazed at what he does - telling God's truth in video & verse. Do check his site out, I think you will love his work too!

For those of you who don’t know me, my name’s Dai Woolridge and I’ve come up with the concept of ‘Spoken Truth’; Gospel Truth through Spoken Word.

The heart behind ‘Spoken Truth’ is simple. To ‘speak’ what I believe to be ‘true’, and to speak it through the medium of ‘spoken word’. (Want to find out more about ‘Spoken Word’? This is my take on it.

On this site, you’ll find short films which are available to watch, share, download and be a resource. But the point isn’t you getting your ear talked off as I get up on my hobby horse, the point is to communicate a truth which far outranks any opinions that I may have.

My hope is that you will be engaged with the timeless truths of the Gospel; truths from the Bible, about Jesus and God’s rescue plan for the human race. The word ‘Gospel’ is a translation from the Greek and the root definition is ‘good news’. That’s the reason I want to share it – because it really is something worth sharing.

Introducing 'Good news', this year's Spoken-Truth Christmas film (Part 1)

For this Christmas, Dai Woolridge has put together a two-part film re-telling the nativity story from the shepherds’ perspective, with a difference!

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that some of the very first people in history to witness the arrival of the Messiah were a bunch of ‘rough around the edges’ shepherds. These shepherds had an encounter that turned out to be life-changing:

‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.’ (Luke 2.10–11, NIV)

This year’s ‘Spoken Truth’ film is a twenty-first-century twist on a first-century story.

Jesus is good news for everybody and those who reach out to him get to be part of his family. May we be inspired by the shepherds in Luke 2.17–18, who didn't just know this good news of Christmas, they couldn’t help share about him with everybody.

Spoken Word by Dai Woolridge: Eden - Storytelling four beats through the Bible.

What springs to mind when you think of Eden? The freshest fruit and lushest leaves? A slippery snake, or a guy and a girl swapping their birthday suit for some fig leaves? Maybe you think of the separation, the ‘do not enter’ sign put up, when Adam and Eve didn't choose God's way.

Eden was a place where God strolled through the garden with us. And whilst it all went south, the Bible tells us of God’s restoration plan ever since, fulfilled through our Saviour Jesus, a promise of a fully restored relationship in an eternal new Eden creation – heaven and earth!

A playful parody of 'The 12 Days of Christmas', with a profound message of hope. If your internet connection looks unstable - fear not, it may just be part of the video!

This year Dai Woolridge wanted to create something which would bring both festive cheer and feature hope. This piece is a playful take on a Christmas classic, but we pray that it points you to profound comfort – a baby born in the mess, for our mess. The very one who came to offer us a vaccine, that – if we want it – means we’ll never be socially distanced from God.

Bible Sunday is coming: 29 October 2017

Bible Sunday is on its way! 

Each year, churches the length and breadth of the country celebrate the Bible and this year’s celebrations will be held on Sunday 29 October 2017.

is what you could say if someone asks you what's in the Bible. But that would be like trying to draw the Sistine chapel using crayons...blindfolded...and wearing handcuffs as you do it. 

I mean it just wouldn't do it justice would it.

Where would we be without the Bible?

Psalm 119 tells us that scripture is 'a light to our path' - it gives us spiritual direction. 

So where would we be without it?  We'd be directionless, trying to follow God but stumbling in the dark. As there are millions who are still waiting for this precious book - may we be people who are passionate about 'living it' and also 'giving it'
