Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) is back & we are off to Oulton Park as a compo win!!!

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) continues to assert itself as the greatest domestic bike series in the world, and a producer of some of the sport's hottest properties.

The Bennetts BSB bikes average more than 180bhp and are capable of reaching 200mph. If you haven't witnessed the atmosphere first hand, the explosive acceleration off the line or the riders rubbing elbows at incredible speeds - then you really should!

Bennetts BSB has a huge following of fans who follow the championship around the UK, and that is a testament to the teams and riders who push themselves and their bikes to the limit, whilst never forgetting that they're racing to entertain the massive crowds at the circuits.

As a loyal Bennetts bike insurance customer & a massive compo hound: I'm Blessed to have won two general admission weekend tickets to Oulton Park, safety car lap, & a pit lane tour! Not bad eh! So matey Mikey & I are off "up North" next weekend. More details to follow soon 😀 👍

Oxford Products is reviewing whether or not to continue as a sponsor of the British Superbike Championship

Major BSB sponsor Oxford Products is considering leaving the championship due to the series’ partnership with title sponsor Zyn

BSB struck a deal with the nicotine pouch manufacturer in June 2025, however, Oxford Products is concerned about the impact it could have on racing fans and motorcyclists in general.

Zyn took over the role of title sponsor earlier this year when long-time partner Bennetts ended its partnership with the British series. The company is a subsidiary of tobacco giant Philip Morris International, with its nicotine pouches advertised as ‘smoke-free’ alternatives to cigarettes.

However, studies have suggested that the pouches are “highly addictive”, which Oxford Products says “is not compatible with our philosophy of making life on bikes better”.

Oxford Products has been a mainstay in the world of two-wheel racing since the mid-1970s, and in recent years it has backed riders and teams in BSB. Oxford Products was previously the title sponsor of the Moto Rapido Ducati team.

Well done Oxford Products - good to see a company with decent ethics.
Now if only big tech could learn how to behave...

Bennetts British Superbikes at Oulton Park 4th-6th May 2024

Well that was fun!

Day 1 MikeyG & I set off riding from my place early on Saturday, and arrived about 11am @ Oulton Park, what a great circuit! The 1st day was practice & qualifying. Weather was overcast, cool, no rain :0). We stayed for the weekend with a pal (thanks Byron!) who lives in Runcorn (very nice) about 30mins ride from the circuit. We went out for a great meal at Ego Mediterranean Restaurant and Bar, Stockton Heath.

Day 2 was qualifying & racing. Weather was sunny & warm. Lots more folks this day. This was when we got our goodies - a Safety Car lap (really fast - brilliant!), a Pitlane tour, and access to the viewing platform. We rounded off the day with a few beers, nosh up & pub quiz at The Stag at Walton :0).

Day 3 was the big day! Serious racing and a huge turnout. Overcast again but no rain while we were there - not bad for a Bank Holiday, eh? We left early afternoon to beat the rush / bank holiday traffic. Rained during the second half of the trip but our Scott rain gear did it's job, and kept us dry.

Each day the local Lions were running a "helmet & leather" (and luggage etc!) secure storage area - which was a real blessing as lumping all that stuff around for three days would have been grim!

Mahoosive thanks Bennetts - a truly excellent compo win & superb weekend! We usually go to Thruxton BSB each year, first year at Oulton Park - excellent venue but a bit of a trek from Denmead! Motorcycle racing - what a fantastic sport! These riders are sporting heroes & truly straddle the line between genius & crazy. May God Bless & protect 'em all x

The photos from our our trip are here - enjoy!
